Crockery City Brewery and Ice Company

This is seven stories of Scary. No roof on at least one side. Very Gothic looking. For some reason it reminds me of a building in a Batman movie. I am looking for some info on it. I have found out it hasn't been used much since the late 1950's. It was built in 1900. It survived two times of prohibition, once local and once national. It employed as many as 135 people at one time. I have not heard any ghost stories about the place, but really, it is so scary looking, does it even need any? For scary, these pictures give this building no justice. Standing in front of it, I was very uncomforable. I don't know if it's because the place looks like it is going to fall down, or because something is there.
Still, if you know any stories about it, please let me know.
Is this building soon to become a member of the parking lot club? While I haven't heard anything like that, no one has any money to restore it. How much would it take to fix up this seven story monster? Probably about as much as it is going to take to tear it down I would guess, and tearing down this building is not a pleasant thought. At this point it looks like seven stories of death. Has any one heard anything? Please let me know.

That building is gorgeous. I hate to see any city get rid of history and they certainly don't make anything that beautiful nowadays (glass/steel only today). It doesn't sound like it should have a bad history attached to it, but if it's structurally unsound, they probably will have to tear it down. Enjoy as many photos as you can get of it. Rebuilding in cities being what it is nowadays, it may be there for some time before they manage to do something about it.
