A Cemetery on McKracken Road in Salem, Ohio

Another little part of history lies quietly on McKracken Road in Salem, Ohio. It is small and fairly old. It is the final resting place for several men who lost their lives in the Civil War. Here, a few graves lay beside the road.
This is the most populated section of the cemetery. I have walked up here many times because I used to near this area. It is actually someones front yard.

This is Mike walking toward the main section.

If you click on this picture, you can read the epitaph on this one.

Like the other older little cemeteries, it needs some work.

This grave marker has stayed with me for a lot of years. I do not know who put it here for this man, but I like to think it was someone who loved him and wanted people to know he was here. I would love to know more about him. If you can't read it, the botton line says:
He was a man of sorrows and aquainted with grief.
His name was Abraham Phillips. He was once walked this earth and came to rest here. This little cemetery is definetly worth a moment of your time.
