Respect~The Most Important Word In The Ghost Hunter's Vocabulary

This aggravates me to no end.  Why would anyone want to destroy some one's grave site?  I just don't understand it.
This is a beautiful example of a possible Table Top Tomb or Chest Tomb.  The stone is inscribed with the information about the person under it.  In this picture, taken in early spring, 2010, you can see it is cracked in many places, but still in one piece.

This is what it looks like now.  It looks like some one tried to look inside.  GRRR!!!  I hate that.  It is a beautiful grave marker.    RESPECT is one of the most important words you have in the ghost hunters vocabulary.  Respect the area you are investigating. Respect other ghost hunting crews.  Respect the entities you are choosing to interact with.  With out it, you won't go far in this field.

Are you really sure that it is vandalism? Can you definitively say for sure that it is not a case od weathering?

If it was a natural weathering, and some of it may be, then the corner of the marker would not have been on top of the marker. I guess you have to go and see it to get a better idea of the damage. Someone tried to look inside so see if something was in there. Had they just done some homework, they would have learned that the person is buried there, like normal, and the stone top was to keep any body snatchers from stealing their body. It was a common practice from the mid 1800's
to early 1900's. You could even see where someone tried to dig under it. It was not like an animal. They ultimately stopped because they kept running into dirt.

Also, every window in the old church has been broken out of it. It is the most disrespectful thing out of all of it. That church is over 100 years old and all the windows are now broken out of it. Such a shame.
