New Crew Member for 2013 Jeremy Vantilburg

We were lucky to get yet another person on our crew this year.  We don't get to see him as much because he works a lot, but when he is able to, he helps us out!  Here he is pictured with Dennis, helping out with the tours during the Pottery Festival.
He also has a big interest in Bigfoot!
He and Amanda live in a century home on Lisbon Street in LaCroft, which we investigated last year.
Jeremy and Amanda portrayed our Captain and the Lady at the Scenic Vista Ghost Walk this year with the Civil War Reenactment held there on May 25!
We are fortunate to have him on our crew and look forward to working with him!

Crew Member for 2013-Amanda Vantilburg

We were lucky to get Amanda Vantilburg on our crew this year!  We first met her when we investigated her home last year on Lisbon Street in LaCroft, East Liverpool.
Since then we kept in contact and this year, I asked her to join the crew.  (Her husband, also!)

Amanda has been awesome!  She conducted a tour during the Pottery Festival, last minute, when I really needed her!   She got excellent reviews!
She is also our new Esther Hale!  She does makeup, and has an interest in Bigfoot!
You will be seeing a lot more of Amanda!  We are lucky to have her on our crew!

New People Playing Legends

Esther Hale is now being portrayed by Amanda for G12P.  Amanda is new to us this year and as it happens, perfect to play our Esther!  The dress she is wearing is a Vintage 1910 Wedding Gown, which is the closest we can get so far for that role.
This is Nicholas (AKA Peanut).  He is portraying Little David from the old house.  He is Amanda's son and we are happy to be working with him!
Courtney is our new Gretchen Gill. While we are still working on the dress, Courtney plays an awesome Gretchen!

Dennis is working on the Character John, who haunts the opening to the path that leads back to Lock 41.  Angry and protective, Dennis has the perfect look for that!
With our new crew, we have a lot of work ahead of us, but so far, that is looking very good!

Jonathon portrayed our Jake the Night Watchman yesterday.  His
intense, angry looks served that character well yesterday!

An Awesome Old Building in Salem, Ohio

I am currently working on the fall Ghost Trolley Tours and happened to drive past this old building, right beside the old Salem China Company.  What an awesome find!  It is loaded with windows and I am very interested to find out it's history.  I would love to go inside and have a look around, but not sure how safe it is.  Still, the outside is amazing.

If you know anything about it, please let me know!  ghosting12@yahoo.com

Saying Good-Bye to Several Crew Members

This Ghost Hunting Crew has had many ups and downs in the past few years.  It has been very hard sometimes to deal with the drama that comes with ghost hunting.  Our crew lasted 5 years for what I called the Original 8.  Recently several people quit, as listed below:

Amber Rodgers
Brooke McKinley
Samantha Baker
Jack Menough
Pam Russle

They will all be deeply missed as they are all great ghost hunters.  I wish them well in their future endeavors.  They are wonderful people and I know they will go far in what ever they do! Pam is working with the Columbiana County Humane Society as a Foster for some of the dogs they get.   Brooke has joined a new crew, though I do not know the name of it.  Jack is doing his own thing now and writing a book!  I truly wish him well!  If I get any info on his book, I will be sure to share it with everyone here!  Amber is almost done at the Police Academy and I am excited for her as she jumps into her new career!  Sam is working two jobs and just enjoying life.
G12P is continuing on, however, with both Ghost Hunting and Bigfoot Hunting as well.  We haven't changed how we do things or what we are doing.  We are still giving free tours.  We are still doing private investigations.  We are still doing fundraisers and looking for our next overnight adventure!  We currently have a new blog called Stuck on the Bigfoot Channel and that included a facebook page and a twitter page,  all listed on the side.
Crew members come and go, but I will always be a ghost hunter and doing that as Ghosting 12 Paranormal.  We are still out there.  You are just going to see a few new faces working it!
Jon, Dennis, David and the lovely Tracy!

Lady-In-White at Teegarden Covered Bridge?

I got two emails claiming that Teegarden Covered Bridge is haunted by a woman in white.  I have lived in this area my whole life and never heard that.  The Bridge has spanned the creek here for over 140 and is one only 5 (out of 250) covered bridges left in Columbiana County.
When my mom was little, she came here to swim with her parents.  She always loved stopping here and walking around.
You used to be able to drive across it, but they built the cement bridge  in about 1992 and then rebuilt the covered bridge in 2003.  It is a beautiful little park, built for bikers from the Green Way Bike Trail.
But ghosts?

It is a place G12P will be investigating to find out.  I first have to find out who I talk to to get permission.  I can't emphasize enough how important that is.  Get PERMISSION before you go anywhere, especially at night!  I am certainly not saying I have always done that in the past, but no good can come of it.  GET PERMISSION!
If you have heard the story of a white lady haunting the park, please email me with the story you heard!  ghosting12@yahoo.com

Is 3 AM The Best Time To Hunt For Ghosts?

I have learned a lot over the years doing paranormal investigations.  Places like Beaver Creek State Park, Gretchen's Lock, Thompson Park, Cry Baby Bridge in Salem, Spring Grove Cemetery in East Liverpool, and numerous private investigations have given me dozens of recorded EVP, which is in my opinion, some of the best proof of ghosts out there.  Some of the bigger places like Sedamsville Rectory, Hill View Manor, and Twin City Opera House have all been very successful investigations where we have captured EVP also.  What are the time frames of these audio anomalies we captured? They are all over the clock honestly.

While many believe that 3am is the Bewitching Hour or Dead Time  (as referred to by Paranormal State), I have yet to see evidence of it.  Does that mean it isn't true then?  NO.  It just means I have not been in any situation where 3am was significant.  I had my own little haunting in January of 2012 and it occurred at 3:30 am in my own home.  Unfortunately, I was asleep prior to the event and had no equipment running anywhere.  It became a personal experience . Some of the very best EVP I have were caught at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, or 9pm or 5pm or noon.  I can count on one hand the number I have gotten at 3am.  So what does that mean?
It means you can get ghostly activity any time of the day or night, not just at 3am.  In fact, when we investigated Sedamsville, Twin City Opera House, and even Mansfield Prison, everything stopped by 3am. It was like they all went to sleep.  Maybe they did.

Being Touched By A Ghost

There are a lot of different theories about what it is like to be touched by a ghost.  Some say the area of your body being touched gets very cold.  Others say it feels like you walked into a spider web.  Some get their hair tugged.  Others get scratched.  Still others get pushed.
It is scary to experience it for some people.  We recently did an investigation where some of the family members were getting their feet touched at night.
I was touched once in 2009 when we were investigating the Diamond Mansion.

I was walking with Sarah, one of my crew members, side by side down this long dark hallway.   We were coming to a door we had to walk through when she laid  her hand on my shoulder.  I turned to see what she wanted and no one was there.  She had stopped about twenty feet back to look at something on the wall.  It was not a scary incident for me at all.  It was like someone was telling me to hold up a minute.  I loved it!  In ten years I have not been scratched or hurt in any way.  Others I know were not so lucky.   When we did Sedamsville, one of the crew got scratched down his back.  It was about an inch wide and 12 inches long.

Here is one possible theory as to why ghosts do what they do.
What if you woke up one morning and went downstairs to see your family getting ready for their day and no one saw you.  They couldn't hear you  and didn't know you were right there beside them.  No matter how much you yelled or how hard you tried, they just didn't know you were there.  Day after day, you watch as they mourn your death.  Eventually they move, leaving you there, because for some reason you can't leave the house. Year after year goes by and you get more desperate for someone to know you are there.  You would get really angry at some point. What would you do to get someone's attention?  Pull their hair.  Move their belongings.  Turn on their water?  Change the channel on their Television as they watch it?  Scratch them?  Push them, all the while screaming
"I AM HERE!!"

A Full Moon Evening At Gretchen's Lock

Had a tour down at Gretchen's Lock tonight and it was a lot of fun.  I never have a bad time when I go down there. I have said this before, but I could be having the worst day and when I go down there, I just feel better.
I took a tour back to see Gretchen's Lock and to hear Bigfoot tales from the area.  It was a lot of fun.
There was a beautiful Herring that landed close to us so I took a few pics of it.  I liked this one because I caught some eye shine on the bird.
They are so big and yet so graceful.
Beaver Creek never fails to give you a great view either! It is very beautiful down in that area and calming to the nerves.  I have wonderful ghost hunting memories with great friends here!
This picture is spooky.  It makes you wonder what that is at the end of the trail.
Awe, Gretchen's Lock never changes.  It is always full of water.  I bet the mud goes to your neck if you walk out into that.
Many believe Gretchen Gill haunts this lock.  I believe someone named Gretchen does.  We have gotten her name in an EVP before here.  History says Edward Gill never had any children, so I am not sure who Gretchen really is, or if there is a Gretchen at all.  Of course, then you have to wonder who talked on the EVP?
The plan life here is growing like crazy.  It is hard to see the lock at all this time of year.  Beautiful, to be sure, but somewhat overgrown.

The small group I was with seems to have a few orbs along with them.  I wonder why they are right above them.  Do bugs look like orbs that far away?  Hmmm......
Full moon through the trees and over the creek!  It is an awesome night to be at Gretchen's Lock.  You don't need a flashlight.
The moonlight is enough to see by and it casts shadows and rays through the trees in a haunting way.  It is my favorite time to be here!  And here I was!
With these brave ghost hunters!  Thank you all so much for an awesome evening!

Old Grange Buildings Are Still Around

"The National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry, also known as The Grange, is a fraternal organization in the United States which encourages families to band together to promote the economic and political well-being of the community and agriculture. The Grange, founded after the Civil War in 1867, is the oldest American agricultural group with a national scope."
  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Grange_Hall_buildings-    Thank you Wikipedia!

This Grange building sits on Salem Grange Road.  It is a century building, I believe, though I still have not found out much about its history.  Markings on it from United Local are from 2002 though, as that is when my son David was in school there.  I never did find out what FEMTAN meant.  Hmmm.....
There are a lot of old grange buildings around.  I would love to know more about this one.  Actually I would love to go inside and take some pictures...  I did get one of the inside through a window.
So, I am looking for any history about this building that might be known out there.  When it was built, any cool things that might have happened here, anything like that.  ghosting12@yahoo.com

And in case you are wondering, Yes, the lady in the window got me.  I thought someone was up there looking down at me for a second.

Stuck On The Bigfoot Channel- A New Website For G12P

We have a new website called Stuck on the Bigfoot Channel.  It is all about Bigfoot in Columbiana County and our adventures to find it.  We interview people who have had encounters and go to the places they occurred.  If it is about Bigfoot, we will do our best to put it on this blog!

We also have a new Facebook page for this:
STUCK ON THE BIGFOOT CHANNEL FACEBOOK
This page will be operated primarily by Amanda Vantilburg.

We will also be having a twitter page.  It will be operated by Dennis Martin Jr. and we will post information about it when it is up and ready!

Pottery Festival Day 3

I am fairly tired so this is short.  Day three of the Pottery Festival was great!  Met awesome people, which includes a pair of ladies known as the Paranormal Grannies.  They showed me several pictures they had taken with possible evidence in them and their enthusiasm was wonderful.
There were plenty of crew members out to help and they were ALL newbies!
Amanda gave tours today and she did so great, it was like she had been doing it all along!  She handled it amazingly!
Jeremy, one of our newest crew members (in the gray shirt) assisted with the tours this weekend and was invaluable!  We are lucky to have him.  Stories on both of them are coming soon!
Dennis and Jon handled the booth today as well as Dennis helping out with the tours.  When we interviewed him back in March, everyone instantly like him and with good reason.  He is an awesome crew member and I see him going places, not just with us, but in the paranormal community as a whole.
David and Tracy also showed up to help out and I am grateful for all they do to help out!  We were an awesome team at this years Pottery Festival  and look forward to future events working together.  Future events for us include working on videos and investigations!  G12P is going strong and getting better and better.
Our next event is August 12 at Gretchen's Lock.

Pottery Festival Day 2

The weather was amazing!  The Crowd was so much better!  We got to see lots of old friends and made so many new ones!
We had a full crew for a short while today!  While everyone is going in different  directions now, it was awesome to get together today and see everyone one!
New crew members, Amanda and Jeremy (along with Peanut!) did such great work today you would think they had been on the crew for years!  Amanda is interested in helping with tours and I am grateful for that!  We had two tour groups today.  Jeremy, Amanda and I took one...
Jon and Dennis took the other.  Everyone had a good time!  It was a long time since Jon did a tour and Dennis is new this year, so his experience was limited, but like I said, these guys were like they had years of experience!  I loved it and know I made great choices asking them on the crew! Jon has this way with people and they just love him so I knew he couldn't go wrong!

We also had Peanut working the crowd tonight, walking around like our little sandwich dude, telling people about the tour!  I said he is hired and will be out tomorrow night doing this again!
Lots more people tonight and a great show with the Hamburg eating contest, and Idol.
Tomorrow is the last day and I will be sorry it ends.  Come down and visit us!  Tell us your ghost stories!
